Yes, Miss Commander!

About The Film

For one hundred days, a film crew was given unprecedented access to one of the Israeli army's most complicated missions: integrating within its ranks newly enlisted soldiers from extremely disadvantaged backgrounds. Often their last chance to reenter society, these troubled young men come from broken homes, or are involved with drugs or other criminal activity. Even more extraordinary, the daunting task of whipping these rebellious recruits into shape falls to inexperienced female commanders, some as young as eighteen. During a grueling three-month basic training course, these young women patiently balance discipline with emotional involvement in hopes of improving the self-image and skills of trainees. An estimated 90 percent of recruits go on to earn their uniform in an emotional final induction ceremony. YES, MISS COMMANDER! presents an ultimately inspiring test of human will in the face of extreme hardship.
